In order to make money online you will need to have an online presence. Now I’m not talking about your personal Instagram and Twitter account or your Gmail email address. Remember, you are reading this post because you want to make money, and I promise I will teach you how. But first. Suit up. And by that I mean, you have to look professional.
Nothing says that you are professional like a business email address, a business based Instagram account, and even a blog (I’ll show you how to make one later) which is strictly business. You need to be sure that you work with something that you have some knowledge about or at least something that you are very passionate about, because you are going to have to spend a lot of time building up your online enterprise. If you chose the wrong topic you will be stuck and progression will be very difficult. Now that you have a topic which you are passionate about brainstorm a few cool ideas for names that you would want to call your online enterprise and head on over to Gmail to create an email address.
Next you will want to create a Twitter or Instagram account and start getting followers. This can be a very tiring process believe me, but in the end it will all be worth it. It is going to be your main form of advertising for everything you do online. Remember, the key ingredient to online money is a support base or a loyal fan club. These are the people who you promote a product or a blog post or even your referral links to. It is these people who is going to get your name out there, and of course that is what you want, isn’t it? So post relevant information about your niche to gain a following, and in no time you can start monetizing.
The last thing you need to do is to create a blog. This is another form of gaining a following. It is really not as hard as it seems. In my post How To Start Your Own Blog I set out a step by step guide on how to create your own blog. The reason you need to create a blog is to share your knowledge in more detail than in your social media posts. This can be another form of monetization (which will be discussed in another post).
